Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Light and flavorful lettuce wraps with Asian-inspired chicken

These fresh and healthy lettuce wraps are packed with flavor and make for a perfect light lunch or appetizer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 head butter lettuce, leaves separated
  • 1 can water chestnuts, diced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken and cook, breaking up with a spoon, until browned.
  3. Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in water chestnuts and green onions.
  5. Mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha.
  6. Pour sauce over chicken and stir to combine.
  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  8. Serve in lettuce cups and garnish with sesame seeds.

Choose nice crisp lettuce leaves that can hold the filling. Boston lettuce or iceberg work great for this recipe.
